Emergency Hygiene Kits
APHSA and AASD/NASTA will be collecting Emergency Hygiene Kits during the Conference. This campaign will help provide much needed and immediate supplies for the local agencies who are working tirelessly to provide aid to the thousands of displaced Houstonians.
There are two ways you can participate in this effort:
-
Bring a few (2 per person would be awesome) completed kits to the conference
-
Provide a cash donation which will be sent directly to the DePelchin Children’s Center (APHSA will write one check from our members). We will also have websites tagged for the American Red Cross, United Way of Houston and other vetted organizations if you want to donate directly to an agency.
Emergency Hygiene Kits
Emergency hygiene kits have been identified as a much-needed item by responders in Houston. All kits must be in a clear quart or gallon-size Ziploc-style bag. It is suggested that you write a short encouraging note to include with your kit. No kits will be assembled at the conference.
The following items represent a complete kit for one individual (travel size if possible):
-
Toothbrush (1)
-
Toothpaste (1)
-
Disposable Razors (1)
-
Shaving Cream (1)
-
Moist wipe packet (3)
-
Shampoo (1)
-
Deodorant (1)
-
Bar of soap or shower gel (1)
-
Comb or brush (1)
-
Small garbage bag (1)
Tuck a couple in your suitcase and let's show our collective support for the residents of Houston. As a reminder, please bring completed kit(s). Drop your completed kits at the donation table which will be set up near registration. The DePelchin Children’s Center will distribute the kits in the Houston area.
